ANXIETY

Anxiety is a normal human emotion that is characterized by worry, tension, and physical  symptoms like increased heart rate, rapid breathing, upset stomach, and feeling hot and sweaty. It is common to experience temporary anxiety before a stressful situation; such as before a performance or speech, preparing for an important test, or before a date. Anxiety becomes problematic when it feels out of proportion to the event, prolongs past the event, and impairs the individual's ability to perform or function in daily life.
